Socialization Groups

Beginning Saturday April 7, 2012 from 9:00-11:00am

Socialization groups with ABCs Autism Development Group, LLC provide a fun and enriching environment that will give your child exposure to a variety of activities. Our socialization groups will go beyond basic interactive activities. With ABCs Autism Development Group, LLC, each child will have individual goals based on their needs and will be closely matched with another child of the same ability. One of our highly qualified therapists will facilitate appropriate interactions based on your child’s needs and our proven curriculum.

The goal of our socialization groups is to do the following:

Provide a rich environment in which your child will be exposed to a variety of activities from sports activities, arts and crafts, music, and imaginative play.
Pair activities that are neutral or not reinforcing to increase motivation.
Work on increasing language through motivation by using requesting (mands).
Build competency and proficiency in new activities.
Increase variety of language used by your child.
Provide opportunities to interact with other children.
Foster independence through fun activities.
Work on sharing toys and materials with peers.
Increase motivation in peer relationships.
Work on reading and interpreting nonverbal cues from others.

Socialization groups can consist of 2-4 children with 1-2 therapists. Generally, our groups will have 2 children to 1 therapist.

Socialization groups will meet every Saturday from 9:00-11:00am.
